Event Details

Join us for our regular March dinner event.  Our keynote speaker will be Martin VanDerSchouw, CEO of Looking Glass Development.  This event will also include a 1 hour pre-dinner workshop that focuses on the processes, tools and techniques of the business analyst & reporting professional.

Keynote:

Most of us have been there.  Our company has good products and great ideas, but just can’t seem to deliver.  They consistently are late, over budget, delivering the wrong features, and are struggling with risks.  Invariably management reaches for a silver bullet.  From TQM, Six Sigma, Lean, Agile Development, project management and strategy process after process has come through the door only to fail.  This keynote focuses on why seven out of ten of these initiatives fail costing on average $750,000 and taking over nine months of our time.  More importantly, the speaker will focus on what you can do about it to succeed.

Throughout the story, VanDerSchouw reveals the eight key concepts every team needs to succeed, and explains why even the best often struggle.  He outlines a powerful model and actionable steps every manager can take to overcome these common hurdles to build a cohesive and successful organization.

About Martin:

With nearly 20 years of experience as an executive and information technology professional Mr. VanDerSchouw served as the 2008 External Relations and Volunteer Involvement Committee Chair and the 2007 Chair of Performance Oversight and Secretary Treasurer as a member of the PMI International Board of Directors for the Project Management Institute, was PMI’s 2004 International Leader of the Year, was named to the Denver Business Journal’s 40 Under 40, served as a member of the prestigious President’s Business Advisory Council, and served as a member of Colorado’s Commission on Information
Management.

Previously, Mr. VanDerSchouw served as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for the country’s 3rd largest interactive agency where he worked with firms such as Amazon.com, HotMail, Sun Microsystems, and ESPN.com. Prior to his CTO posting he was an information technology executive with Wells Fargo & Company in San Francisco, California.
